So, i was working over the last week in another idea for this painting, I made it wider and more dinamic, thanks to *raqsonu and =AuraNegra for the advise of depth. Inmy opinion now is much more improvemet and detail, I hope you enjoy the changes.
Hey, folks! Sorry for the long-ish wait, but here's your friendly internet robot with yet another piece!
This one is by and it depicts a lone adventurer on the the next leg of his longish journey.
I definately like what the artist is doing here, but I have some doubts about some of the perspective choices of this piece. The forest doesn't look so much like a forest as about maybe a hundred yards of trees, with the way the cliffs are perched above it.
Colour choices are good, fairly subtle, and generally fade into the distance well enough (Except with, again, that dang forest), and our good adventurer definately stands out.
I guess aside from the forest thing, I guess my one other problem with this piece is that, aside for the moving of natural features in the scene (And that mostly thanks to the well placed waving grass in the foreground), there isn't really much going on here.
Perhaps its just me. Maybe I'm a little unsubtle in my interests. I mean after all, there are no fires in the distance, no dragons, no trolls rustling beneath the trees, and maybe its just the promise of slaying that I'm missing.
I don't know whether this is a mighty dragon-slayer, a brilliant wizard, or just a fellow on his way with a messege to send to any bandits in the area.
A messege like "Don't mess with my tranquility, thugs."
I really like the feeling I get from this painting. An adventurer in a strange land, a mysterious castle in the distance...yes, I dig the theme. It's incredible paint work too. I envy those who are comfortable with painting, be it traditional or digital. It really takes a special vision.
